Track Geometry
A full complement of geometry measurements including gauge, cross level, alignment, surface, speed, warp, twist, curvature and elevation are displayed in strip charts and functional, user-friendly displays.
Rail Wear
The RailPod vehicle measures horizontal wear, vertical wear, gauge face angle, rail cant and rail type/size. Customers are able to compare differences in rail wear measurements over time with run-on-run comparisons.
Bridge + Tunnel Clearances
The RailPod clearances technology provides accurate right-of-way clearances measurements in height and width from track center-line. The customer can access deviations from standard plates or custom car geometry.
Overhead Catenary
RailPod provides height and stagger measurements for single wire catenary systems. Additional catenary infrastructure and third rail measurements are possible with the standard LiDAR solution.
Internal Rail Flaw
The RailPod clearances technology provides accurate right-of-way clearances measurements in height and width from track center-line. The customer can access deviations from standard plates or custom car geometry.
Asset Mapping
The RailPod is capable of collecting survey grade GIS Spatial data to include GIS location of track center-line, track elevation, sign posts, switch location, bridges, tunnels, and other track or wayside assets. This same information can be fed into locomotive train control systems for automatic control of throttles.
